Hi, I’m Amanda:
and I’m the Operations Manager for The Harvard Shop. I started my journey through life in Fairbanks, Alaska where my parents were stationed in the US Army. Since then, I have called many places home but my heart is forever in the South! (Shout out to my homies in Texas!). I’m the eldest of two girls - my amazing sister is a high school sophomore involved in both ROTC and Cheerleading. My “brother”, according to my mom, is our 4 year old Miniature Schnauzer, Tank, the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet.
Besides my family (and Tank!), the thing I miss most from home is playing Batman and watching the Avengers with Max, my awesome little “brother” (okay, he’s not my brother, he’s the son of a friend), who is pretty much the 4 year old little boy version of myself.
I’m currently a sophomore in Leverett House, and like many students, I’ve changed my concentration several times. I’ve ultimately decided to concentrate in Cognitive Neuroscience and Evolutionary Psychology, and possibly pursue a secondary in Statistics.
I found out about Harvard Student Agencies within the first month of my freshman year. I worked as a Sales Associate at The Harvard Shop for a year before being offered the position as Operations Manager.
As Operations Manager, I work to ensure the three stores are running as efficiently as they can, that customer needs are being met, and that our partners are satisfied. I work closely with Nicki, the Personnel Manager, to make sure our Sales Associates are aware of store policies and events. I also coordinate with other managers at The Harvard Shop to plan events and maintain stock levels in each location. This job has been a great experience, and has allowed me to make important decisions for the stores, and to work with other amazing people to promote our business!
Outside of the office, I like to explore the city, and frequently visit Sky Pond and other “nature havens” hidden within the Greater Boston area.
